industrial unionism
Industrial unionism is a labor movement strategy where workers across an entire industry, regardless of their specific job roles or trades, band together to form a single union. This approach aims to give workers greater collective bargaining power by uniting all employees within a particular industry—like steel, automobiles, or mining—under one organization. Unlike craft unions, which organize workers based on specific skills or trades, industrial unions seek to improve conditions and wages industry-wide, promoting solidarity and more effective negotiations with employers. The goal is to strengthen workers' influence and ensure fair treatment across all positions in the industry.
