inductance

Inductance is a property of a coil or circuit that resists changes in electric current. When current flows through a coil, it creates a magnetic field. If the current tries to change, the magnetic field also changes, which then generates a small voltage opposing the change. This effect, called inductance, means the circuit "resists" sudden increases or decreases in current, helping to smooth out fluctuations. In practical terms, inductance is important in creating filters, transformers, and other electronic components that control how electric currents behave.
