Indian Reservation
Indian Reservations are designated areas of land in the United States where Native American tribes have sovereignty and self-governance. These lands were often established through treaties and agreements with the U.S. government, primarily during the 19th century. Reservations provide tribes with the ability to manage their own affairs, including governance, education, and economic development, although they may still be subject to some federal laws. Each reservation can maintain its cultural practices and traditions while also facing challenges related to poverty, resources, and legal issues over land rights.
