Impedance Plethysmography

Impedance plethysmography is a technique used to measure blood flow and volume changes in limbs or other parts of the body by detecting small variations in electrical resistance. Electrodes are placed on the skin, and a tiny, harmless electrical current passes through the area. As blood volume in the tissue fluctuates with heartbeat and circulation, the resistance to electrical flow changes slightly. These changes are recorded and analyzed to assess blood flow, identify blockages, or evaluate circulation health. It’s a non-invasive, quick, and reliable way to monitor vascular conditions without the need for radiation or contrast dyes.
