iliopsoas tendon

The iliopsoas tendon is a strong tissue band connecting the iliopsoas muscle group—located in the front of your hip—to the pelvis and the femur (thighbone). The iliopsoas muscle helps lift your thigh and stabilizes your hip during movement like walking or running. The tendon transmits muscle force to move the hip joint. Sometimes, this tendon can become irritated, inflamed, or develop tightness, leading to hip pain or discomfort. Understanding the iliopsoas tendon is important in diagnosing and treating hip and groin issues related to hip flexor function.
