Iliopsoas muscle

The iliopsoas is a group of deep muscles located in the front of your hip and lower abdomen, essential for movement and stability. It consists of two muscles: the psoas major, which connects your lower spine to the thigh, and the iliacus, which attaches to the inner pelvis and thigh bone. This muscle helps you lift your knees, bend at your hips, and maintain good posture. Because it's close to nerves and other important structures, keeping the iliopsoas flexible and healthy is key for comfortable movement and to prevent lower back or hip pain.
