Identity disorder

Identity disorder, often called Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), is a mental health condition where a person experiences two or more distinct identities or personality states that repeatedly take control of their behavior. These identities may have different memories, behaviors, and ways of viewing the world. It often develops as a way to cope with severe trauma or abuse. People with DID may feel like they have different "selves" or personalities that come and go, and they may experience gaps in memory. Treatment typically involves therapy to help integrate these identities and address underlying trauma.
