Id al-Adha prayers
Id al-Adha prayers are special congregational prayers performed by Muslims to commemorate the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Usually held in large open areas or mosques, the prayer includes two units (rakats) with additional Takbirs (saying "Allahu Akbar") to mark the occasion. It is often followed by a communal sacrifice (Qurbani), distributing its meat to the needy. The prayer fosters community unity, gratitude, and reflection on faith and obedience, and is typically performed during daylight hours on the Eid al-Adha holiday.
