iBeacon

iBeacon is a technology developed by Apple that uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) signals to enable nearby devices, like smartphones, to detect and interact with small, battery-efficient transmitters called beacons. These beacons broadcast signals that smartphones can pick up when in close proximity, allowing for location-based services. For example, in a store, an iBeacon can trigger personalized offers or information as you approach a shelf. It doesn’t track your location over long distances but provides context-aware interactions in specific environments, enhancing user experiences without compromising privacy.
