Iban people

The Iban people are an indigenous ethnic group primarily found in Sarawak, Malaysia, and parts of Indonesia. Traditionally, they are known as skilled farmers, hunters, and artisans, with a rich cultural heritage that includes elaborate rituals, crafts, and storytelling. Historically, they were headhunting warriors, but today they are peaceful communities embracing modern life while preserving their customs and traditions. The Iban language belongs to the Malayo-Polynesian family, and their society is organized around communal village groups called longhouses. They play a vital role in the region’s cultural diversity and history.
