İttihat ve Terakki

İttihat ve Terakki, or the Committee of Union and Progress, was a political organization in late Ottoman Empire (early 20th century) advocating for reform, modernization, and centralization of power. Originating as a secret society, it became influential in the 1910s, leading the empire during World War I. Their policies focused on strengthening the empire internally and often involved authoritarian tactics. They played a key role in the 1908 Young Turk Revolution, which restored the Ottoman constitution, and their leadership significantly impacted the empire’s political and military trajectory during a turbulent period.
