Hyperbolic Functions
Hyperbolic functions, such as sinh (hyperbolic sine) and cosh (hyperbolic cosine), are mathematical functions related to the shape of a hanging cable or chain (catenary). They can be thought of as analogs to sine and cosine functions but for hyperbolas rather than circles. These functions describe curves that grow exponentially and are useful in engineering, physics, and mathematics for modeling phenomena involving rapid growth or decay. Like sine and cosine, they have relationships and identities, but they are specifically associated with hyperbolic geometry and exponential expressions.
