Hyderabad Raj
Hyderabad Raj refers to the period when Hyderabad was a princely state under the rule of the Nizam before integrating into India in 1948. Known as the Nizam’s rule, it spanned from the 18th century until independence, characterized by a semi-autonomous governance, rich cultural heritage, and economic significance due to trade and diamond industries. This era ended when the Indian government annexed Hyderabad through a military operation called Operation Polo, leading to its integration into the Indian Union. The term "Hyderabad Raj" often highlights this historical phase of princely sovereignty and transition to democratic governance.
