Hunger and malnutrition
Hunger is the feeling of needing food because the body lacks enough energy from recent meals. Malnutrition occurs when a person's diet doesn’t provide the right balance of nutrients—such as vitamins, minerals, proteins, and calories—to keep them healthy. This can result from insufficient food intake or poor-quality food, leading to health issues like weakness, weakened immune system, or stunted growth. Both hunger and malnutrition are major global problems, often caused by poverty, lack of access to nutritious foods, or food insecurity. Addressing them requires ensuring everyone has reliable access to enough nutritious food.
