Humboldt Penguin

The Humboldt Penguin is a species native to the coastal regions of South America, mainly along Peru and Chile. They are medium-sized seabirds characterized by their black and white plumage, which gives them a formal “tuxedo” appearance. They are excellent swimmers, using their wings like flippers to catch fish and squid in cold, nutrient-rich waters. Humboldt Penguins typically live in colonies on rocky islands or coastal areas, where they nest in burrows or under rocks. They are social animals, often seen huddling together for warmth and safety, and are currently considered vulnerable due to habitat loss and fishing activities.
