Hub
A hub is a basic networking device that connects multiple computers or devices within a local area network (LAN). It acts as a central point where data from one device is received and then broadcast to all other connected devices. Unlike more advanced devices, a hub doesn't distinguish or direct traffic; it simply relays incoming data to all ports. This can lead to inefficiencies and network congestion. Hubs are simple and inexpensive but have largely been replaced by smarter devices like switches that efficiently direct data to specific devices.
