HTLV-1
HTLV-1 (Human T-lymphotropic virus type 1) is a virus that infects certain immune cells in humans. It is mainly transmitted through blood, sexual contact, or from mother to child during childbirth or breastfeeding. Most people infected with HTLV-1 do not show symptoms, but in some cases, it can lead to serious health issues like adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma or neurological conditions such as HTLV-1-associated myelopathy. Although it's relatively rare, awareness and prevention are important, especially in areas where the virus is more common.
