Houyi

Houyi is a legendary figure in Chinese mythology, often depicted as a heroic archer. He is best known for shooting down nine of the ten suns that once burned too brightly in the sky, threatening the earth with destruction. By saving the world from excessive heat and light, Houyi became a symbol of heroism and sacrifice. He is also associated with the Moon, particularly through the tale of his wife, Chang'e, who consumed an elixir of immortality and flew to the Moon.
