House of the People

The House of the People, also known as the Lok Sabha, is the lower house of India's Parliament. It represents the citizens directly through elections, where members are chosen based on population, from various regions across the country. The primary role of the House is to make and pass laws, scrutinize the government’s work, and represent the people's interests. Members serve five-year terms, and the house works alongside the upper house, the Rajya Sabha, to govern the nation. It functions as a key democratic institution ensuring that different voices and regions have a say in national decisions.
