Hospitaliers
The Hospitaliers, or Knights Hospitaller, were a medieval Christian military order founded in the 11th century. Originally established to provide care for sick and injured pilgrims traveling to Jerusalem, they eventually became a powerful organization involved in defending Christian territories during the Crusades. They combined religious devotion with military skills and established hospitals across Europe and the Middle East. Over time, they evolved into a sovereign order with their own territories, wealth, and influence. Today, their legacy continues through charitable and medical activities worldwide, maintaining a focus on healthcare and humanitarian work.
