Homer (Poet)
Homer was an ancient Greek poet traditionally credited with composing two of the greatest epic poems, the "Iliad" and the "Odyssey." These works, thought to date back to around the 8th century BCE, explore themes of heroism, honor, and the human condition through the stories of the Trojan War and the adventures of Odysseus. Homer's influence on Western literature is monumental, shaping the way stories are told. His poems were originally passed down through oral tradition and are considered foundational texts in the study of literature and history. While little is known about his life, his legacy endures in countless adaptations and interpretations.
