Hofstede's dimensions of national culture
Hofstede's dimensions of national culture are a way to understand how different societies think and behave. They include six areas: Power Distance (how much inequality is accepted), Individualism vs. Collectivism (focus on individual or group needs), Masculinity vs. Femininity (competition vs. care and quality of life), Uncertainty Avoidance (tolerance for ambiguity), Long-Term vs. Short-Term Orientation (future planning vs. tradition), and Indulgence vs. Restraint (gratification of desires). These dimensions help explain cultural differences in attitudes, behaviors, and social interactions across countries.
