HMS Investigator
HMS Investigator was a British Royal Navy ship used primarily during the early 19th century for exploration. Notably, it participated in expeditions to discover the Northwest Passage, a rumored water route through North America. The most famous expedition, led by Sir John Franklin in 1845, aimed to chart this route but sadly ended with the loss of the ship and its crew. The vessel was built for Arctic exploration, designed to withstand icy conditions, and its wreckage has provided valuable historical and scientific insights into polar exploration and shipbuilding of the era.
