Hmong languages
Hmong languages are a group of related languages spoken by the Hmong people, primarily in Southeast Asia, southern China, and among diaspora communities worldwide, especially in the United States. There are two main dialects: Hmong Daw (White Hmong) and Mong Leng (Green Hmong). These languages belong to the Hmong-Mien language family and are known for their complex tonal systems, which can change the meaning of words. Hmong languages have a rich oral tradition and have been increasingly written in a Latin-based script, facilitating literacy and cultural preservation among Hmong communities.
