High relief
High relief is a sculptural technique where the figures project significantly from the background, creating a deep sense of three-dimensionality. In high relief, the elements are carved at least half of their depth or more, making them stand out prominently. This technique allows for dynamic shadows and enhanced visual impact, giving the artwork a more dramatic and lifelike appearance. Commonly found in classical sculpture and architectural decorations, high relief creates a vivid interaction between the carved figures and the surrounding space. It contrasts with low relief, where the projection is minimal.
