Hesse-Darmstadt

Hesse-Darmstadt was a historical territory in Germany that existed from the late Middle Ages until the early 20th century. It was part of the larger Landgraviate of Hesse and later became the Grand Duchy of Hesse. Located in what is now the state of Hesse, it played a key role in regional politics and culture. The territory was known for its progressive governance and support for education and the arts. After World War I, the monarchy was abolished, and Hesse-Darmstadt became part of the modern state of Hesse within the Federal Republic of Germany.
