Herschel Space Observatory
The Herschel Space Observatory was a space telescope launched by the European Space Agency in 2009. It was designed to study the universe in infrared wavelengths, which allows it to observe celestial objects that are often too cold or faint for visible light telescopes to see. Herschel provided valuable insights into the formation of stars, galaxies, and planetary systems. Equipped with a large mirror, it helped scientists understand the properties of dust and gas in space, offering a deeper look into the early universe and the processes that shape it. The mission concluded in 2013.
