Herbert Kitchener

Herbert Kitchener was a prominent British military leader and statesman in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He served as Commander-in-Chief of the British Army during World War I and was known for modernizing the army’s organization and strategies. Kitchener also held key government positions, including Secretary of State for War. He became a national hero after his 1914 recruitment poster, where he urged men to join the army with the iconic phrase “Your Country Needs You.” Kitchener played a crucial role in Britain's military efforts during WWI until his death in 1916.
