Hepatitis A

Hepatitis A is a contagious liver infection caused by the Hepatitis A virus. It spreads mainly through ingestion of contaminated food or water, often due to poor sanitation or hygiene. Symptoms can include fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes). While Hepatitis A usually resolves on its own and does not cause chronic liver disease, it can lead to severe illness in some cases. Vaccination is an effective way to prevent the infection, especially for travelers to areas where Hepatitis A is common. Practicing good hygiene and proper food handling can also help prevent its spread.
