Henry of Navarre
Henry of Navarre, also known as Henry IV of France, was a 16th-century monarch who became king of France in 1589. He played a key role in ending the French Wars of Religion by promoting religious tolerance and issuing the Edict of Nantes, which granted rights to Protestants. Originally a Protestant, he converted to Catholicism to secure political unity. Henry was known for his practical approach to governance, his efforts to rebuild the war-torn country, and his reputation as a charismatic and pragmatic leader. His rule marked the beginning of a period of relative stability and prosperity in France.
