Hematologic Neoplasms

Hematologic neoplasms are cancers that originate in the blood-forming tissues, such as bone marrow and lymph nodes. They include conditions like leukemia (cancer of blood cells), lymphoma (cancer of lymphatic tissue), and myeloma (cancer of plasma cells). These diseases involve the abnormal growth and division of blood cells, which can interfere with normal blood function—affecting immunity, oxygen transport, and clotting. Symptoms vary but may include fatigue, infections, unexplained fever, swelling, or easy bruising. Treatment often involves chemotherapy, radiation, targeted drugs, or stem cell transplants, aiming to control or eradicate the malignant cells.
