Hemangiomas

Hemangiomas are common benign (non-cancerous) growths made up of extra blood vessels that form a bright red or purple lump on the skin or internal organs. They often appear in infants but can develop at any age. While many hemangiomas gradually shrink and disappear over time, some may require treatment if they cause symptoms or affect function. They are usually harmless, but medical evaluation is important to determine the best management, especially for larger or complicated cases. Hemangiomas are a common vascular anomaly and, in most cases, have an excellent prognosis.
