Heart rhythm

Heart rhythm refers to the regular pattern of electrical signals that coordinate the heart's contractions, allowing it to pump blood effectively. The sinoatrial (SA) node, located in the right atrium, acts as the heart's natural pacemaker, generating electrical impulses. These impulses travel through specialized pathways, causing the heart muscles to contract in a coordinated manner. A normal rhythm, called sinus rhythm, maintains a steady rate between 60-100 beats per minute. Irregularities, known as arrhythmias, can disrupt this pattern, leading to symptoms like dizziness or palpitations, and may require medical evaluation and treatment to restore normal rhythm and function.
