Health and Retirement Study

The Health and Retirement Study (HRS) is a long-term research project in the United States that collects data on the health, economic, and social factors affecting older adults. Launched in 1992 and conducted by the University of Michigan, it surveys thousands of participants aged 50 and older every two years. The HRS provides valuable insights into how aging impacts various aspects of life, helping researchers, policymakers, and caregivers understand the challenges and needs of the aging population and develop effective strategies for improving their quality of life.
