Hawaiian League

The Hawaiian League was a secret society established in the late 1800s by American and European residents in Hawaii. Its members aimed to increase foreign influence and control over the Hawaiian government, often working behind the scenes to promote policies favorable to their interests. In 1893, the League played a key role in orchestrating the overthrow of Queen Liliʻuokalani, the Hawaiian monarch, ultimately leading Hawaii's annexation by the United States. The League's actions reflected broader efforts by Western interests to dominate Hawaii's political and economic landscape during that period.
