Havana Accords
The Havana Accords are a series of agreements made in 2016 between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), aimed at ending decades of armed conflict. These accords addressed issues like land reform, political participation, drug trafficking, and victims' rights. By establishing a framework for peace, the agreements sought to disarm FARC and integrate its members into society. While the accords were a significant step towards peace, their implementation has faced challenges and ongoing debates in Colombia regarding security, justice, and reconciliation.
