Harold Godwinson was the last Anglo-Saxon king of England, reigning from January to October 1066. He is best known for his role in the pivotal Battle of Hastings, where he faced William the Conqueror. Harold claimed the throne after the death of Edward the Confessor, but his claim was contested. His reign was marked by political tension and military challenges. Unfortunately, during the Battle of Hastings on October 14, 1066, he was defeated and killed, leading to the Norman Conquest of England and significant changes in the country's culture and governance.
