Halo technique
The Halo technique, often used in psychology and marketing, refers to the tendency for an overall impression of a person or a product to influence how we feel about their specific traits or qualities. For example, if someone is attractive, we might also assume they are smart or kind, regardless of evidence. In the context of general knowledge, this means that our initial perceptions can shape our judgments and decisions, making us more likely to overlook flaws in things that seem appealing at first glance. Essentially, a positive or negative "halo" can affect our overall evaluation.
