Hallgrímskirkja

Hallgrímskirkja is a prominent Lutheran church and the tallest building in Reykjavík, Iceland, standing at 74.5 meters (244 feet). Completed in 1986, its striking design draws inspiration from Iceland's volcanic landscapes and basalt columns. The church features a towering steeple visible from across the city and offers panoramic views of Reykjavík from its observation deck. Inside, it hosts regular services, concerts, and cultural events. Designed by architect Guðjón Samúelsson, Hallgrímskirkja is both a religious symbol and an architectural landmark, blending modernist principles with nature-inspired forms, making it a central feature of Iceland's capital.
