Hadean Eon
The Hadean Eon is Earth's earliest geological period, spanning from about 4.6 to 4.0 billion years ago. During this time, Earth was forming from dust and gas, experiencing immense heat, intense volcanic activity, and frequent asteroid impacts. The planet's surface was initially molten, gradually cooling and solidifying. Despite its chaotic nature, the Hadean set the stage for the development of Earth's crust, oceans, and eventually, life. Little direct rock evidence survives from this period, but understanding the Hadean helps us learn how our planet began and evolved into its current form.
