
Guru Nanak (Guru Nanak Dev Ji)
Guru Nanak (Guru Nanak Dev Ji) was the founder of Sikhism and the first of ten Sikh Gurus. Born in 1469 in present-day Pakistan, he emphasized the importance of answering life's big questions through spiritual understanding, compassion, and equality. He taught that there is one God, who is for all people regardless of background, and that humans should live honestly, share with others, and remember God’s name.
