Gurkha War
The Gurkha War (1814–1816) was a conflict between the British East India Company and the Kingdom of Nepal, primarily over territory control in the Himalayan region. Nepalese soldiers, known as Gurkhas, were renowned for their bravery and combat skills. The war resulted in Nepal ceding territory to Britain, leading to the Treaty of Sugauli. Despite the conflict, the British recognized the Gurkhas' valor, later incorporating them into their military forces, where they continue to serve with distinction worldwide. The war marked a significant chapter in British-Nepalese relations and highlighted the Gurkhas' martial reputation.
