Guangzhou Uprising

The Guangzhou Uprising, also known as the Canton Uprising, occurred in December 1927 in Guangzhou (then called Canton), China. It was a short-lived attempt by forces aligned with the Chinese Nationalist Party (Kuomintang) and the Chinese Communist Party to challenge warlord control and establish a unified, republican government. The uprising aimed to resist warlord dominance and promote revolutionary ideals but was quickly suppressed by rival military forces. Despite its failure, it marked a significant event in China's ongoing political struggles and the broader revolutionary movement toward national unification and modernization.
