Group of Seven

The Group of Seven (G7) is an international forum of seven major advanced economies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Founded in the 1970s, it focuses on global economic governance, international security, and energy policy. The leaders of these countries meet annually to discuss and coordinate policy on issues like trade, climate change, and global health. Though the G7 does not have formal authority, it plays a significant role in shaping international strategies and responses to pressing global challenges. The European Union is also represented at G7 meetings.
