Group 2 elements

Group 2 elements, also known as the alkaline earth metals, include magnesium, calcium, and others. They are metals found in the second column of the periodic table. These elements are moderately reactive—more than some metals but less than alkali metals. They tend to lose two electrons to form positive ions and are known for their strength and durability.
