Greenberg's universals
Greenberg’s universals are patterns found across many languages worldwide that suggest certain linguistic features are common everywhere. These universal traits—like the use of nouns and verbs or how questions are formed—reflect underlying principles of human language. Greenberg identified these patterns by comparing numerous languages, providing insight into the fundamental structure of language itself. Essentially, his work shows that despite cultural differences, all human languages share core similarities, revealing aspects of how the human brain processes language and communication.
