Green Cards for Victims of Abuse (VAWA)
The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) provides a pathway for certain victims of abuse, including spouses or children of U.S. citizens or permanent residents, to apply for a Green Card without their abuser's knowledge. This allows them to seek safety and stability without living in fear of retaliation. Applicants must demonstrate the abuse and show that they have a good moral character. If approved, they can obtain permanent residency in the U.S., granting them the right to live and work here legally.
