Great Society Programs
The Great Society Programs were a series of initiatives introduced by President Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1960s aimed at reducing poverty, improving education, and promoting equality. These programs included the Civil Rights Act, Medicare, Medicaid, and various efforts to support education, healthcare, housing, and the arts. Their goal was to create a more just and equitable society by expanding access to essential services and addressing social inequalities, shaping many of the social safety nets and civil rights protections still in place today.
