Great Armenian Revolt
The Great Armenian Revolt (also called the Armenian Uprising of 1894–1896) was a series of protests and armed clashes by Armenians against Ottoman rule. Armenians sought rights, protection from persecution, and cultural recognition amid growing oppression and violence by the Ottoman Empire. The revolt highlighted Armenian frustrations and contributed to international awareness of their plight. Although it was suppressed, it marked a significant moment in Armenian resistance, influencing future efforts for independence and recognition.
