Gray Whale

The Gray Whale is a large marine mammal found primarily in the North Pacific Ocean. It can grow up to 50 feet long and is known for its distinctive gray color and mottled skin. Gray Whales are filter feeders, primarily eating tiny shrimp-like animals called amphipods. They undertake one of the longest migrations of any mammal, traveling up to 12,000 miles each year between their breeding grounds in Mexico and feeding areas in the Arctic. These whales are known for their friendly behavior toward boats and have a significant role in marine ecosystems. They are also a symbol of conservation efforts.
